Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig September 21 1983) is an American actress who is best well-known for her role in the roles of Shannon Rutherford on the ABC television show Lost and Kim Mills in the Taken trilogy. Maggie Grace was born in Worthington, Ohio and dropped out of high school after her parents separated to go in Los Angeles to live with her mother. Even though she had financial difficulties in 2001, her debut came as Rachel's Room's main character. The actress was able to secure a Young Artist Award nomination in 2002 for her performance as the 15 year old murder victim Martha Moxley in the television movie Murder which aired in Greenwich. Grace Rutherford played Shannon Rutherford for Lost's first two seasons of 2004 and she shared a Screen Actors Guild Award (with other cast members) along with her. Grace, who had worked together with Tom Welling on The Fog during 2005, was looking to go into the world of film. The actress was on screen in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club (both 2007) and also starred alongside Liam Neeson as Kim Mills in Taken in 2008. The actress reprised her character in Taken 2 (2011) and Taken 3 (2013).She also played Alice in Malice in Wonderland, a modern version of the Lewis Carroll novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace returned to the character of Shannon in two more episodes of Lost including the series finale. In 2013, she appeared in the sixth season of Californication. She is Faith an actress who is a muse for celebrities and attracts the eye to Hank Moody (David Duchovny). She's the daughters of Stephen Gyllenhaal (director) and Naomi Achs (producer), and is older in age than Jake Gyllenhaal. She began her career as a teenager with small roles in several of her father's films and appeared with her brother in the famous cult classic Donnie Darko (2001). The next film she appeared in was Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind in 2002, and Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal was praised by critics for her performance as the main character actress in Secretary (2002) as well as in Sherrybaby (2006), which is an erotic romantic drama as well as Sherrybaby (2006). The actress received a nomination from The Golden Globe Award. Following a string of commercially successful movies in 2006, including World Trade Center she received wider recognition for playing Rachel Dawes in the superhero film The Dark Knight (2008). She was nominated in the Academy Award as Best Supporting Actress due to her part in Crazy Heart, (2009). Her subsequent roles include Nanny McPhee as well as in the Big Bang and Hysteria. In addition to her role as an agent of the Secret Service agent, she has also appeared on screen in White House Down (2013) and Frank (2014). The most recent roles were her character as the primary protagonist The Kindergarten Teacher The Kindergarten Teacher (2018). In 2021 Gyllenhaal was able to make her writing and directing debut in the psychological drama The Lost Daughter for which she received the Venice International Film Festival's Best Screenplay Award and was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay.
